JAIME GARZÓN FORERO
Born in Bogotá, October 24, 1960, raised in a middle class home, he studied law at the National University of Colombia. comedian, activist, actor, broadcaster, journalist and peace mediator.
His entry into the national media would make him a recognized character and the pioneer of political humor in Colombian television.
On August 13, 1999, he was murdered in Bogota by two assassins near the Radionet radio station where he worked. On different occasions, Garzón had expressed that he was a victim of death threats.

Garzón had to wake up early in the morning to go to work as journalist in Radio
Net al 5 am, after that he should record the owl show for Caracol channel and
the interviews of ‘Heriberto from the street’ for CMI news. In his free time,
he should shared time with his wife and
his sons also he used his time to work as peace manager.
He was a tall, thin man, with his untidy curly hair.
He wore round glasses an indigenous backpack and he liked to laugh.
His
influence in our politic and social history might been the result of his
humanitarian work, allowed him to be near to the armed actors and intermediate
in topics of the conflict and kidnapping, as well he would contribute to
elaborate the new constitution in 1994. He was the most criticist of the
politic journalist in the history of Colombia.
